Wow, that’s great Dr. Thornton. I just finished reading your first book. I picked it up from a friend and didn’t put it down until I was finished. I have two daughters and your dad and I have the exact same philosophies. From the time I married their mother when they were 5 and 7 I have reminded them almost daily that they are going to college and getting degrees so they are not dependent on a man. My oldest is now a senior in high school and planning on entering college next year.

My wife also took my preaching to heart and got a surgical tech degree and is employed as a surgical sterile/surgical tech in Celveland, TN. Her graduation ceremony is this Sunday and she is so excited and we are really proud.

I laughed and cried along with your book and cannot wait for your next one!

P.S. I found a few Thornton Sisters songs on youtube. You guys were good!

Perhaps if these babies were given not only prenatal care but also good breastfeeding support for the mums to help give these children their best shot at life.

thank you for writting this articile!!! you forgot to add abot moms who dont produce milk!!! it makes us feel really bad and a bad mom because “breastfeeding is best” and “all bottlefed babys are sickly and we are bad moms if we dont it really hurst and there is enough guilt out there for us we dont need even more!!!
thanks for listening to a upset mom who didnt breast feed and has three great kids who are fine and super smart!!!

Hi, Kimberly:

Thanks for stopping by. We all know about the four/five major food groups. Pregnant women should eat from those basic food groups each day. The difference between a non-pregnant woman and a pregnant woman’s diet is only 300 calories!! Yep—only 100-300 calories per day. Yet, pregnant women are programmed to overeat. If you eat from the major food groups, a keep your diet balanced with about 30 minutes of exercise, a quart of skimmed milk per day with 2 quarts of water per day, you should be fine. Take care!
